The American Institute for Global Affairs (AIFGA) is an independent institute dedicated to strengthening democratic alliances in an era of rapid technological and geopolitical change. We focus on the Indo-Pacific because it is the region where the future of open societies and free markets will be tested most severely.

We do not speak for any government, party, or campaign. Our credibility rests on rigorous analysis and transparent standards.
Bridging Practice and Policy
We connect veteran-led initiatives, scholars, and public institutions so that on-the-ground programs are informed by serious policy thinking and vice versa.
Audit-Oriented
We treat compliance and oversight as strategic tools. In the current funding environment, initiatives that cannot withstand scrutiny will not endure.
Our Relationship with WAFF
AIFGA serves as the policy and oversight partner for We Are Friends Foundation’s Forward 2030 initiative.
WAFF provides the veteran-led, on-the-ground execution; AIFGA provides the frameworks, documentation, and evaluations that make the initiative a trusted vehicle for governments and major donors.
